Naperville, IL - November 20, 2002 - Tekno Telecom, L.L.C. today announced that Iowa Network Services (INS), a leading provider of interstate and intrastate long distance telephone services, equal access switching and high capacity networking, selected Tekno Telecom’s LinkQuestäSS7 Network Monitoring Solution for use in its switching network.
INS will use Tekno Telecom’s system to provide network monitoring of its Signal Transfer Point’s (STP) SS7 links and utilize Tekno Telecom’s applications for Inter-Carrier Billing and Validation, Quality of Service, Network Troubleshooting, Surveillance, Traffic Engineering, Marketing Studies, and Revenue Assurance.
"Obtaining accurate information directly from our SS7 network will allow us to positively impact our bottom line and our engineering and operations people are looking forward to using the Surveillance and Troubleshooting capabilities of the LinkQuest System," said Bob Sherlock, Vice President – Engineering at INS.
"We are pleased to provide these advanced solutions to INS. They now have patented technology to be proactive in network monitoring which will provide a rapid return on investment. Numerous groups within INS and their member owners will gain beneficial knowledge on inter-carrier and interconnect usage, protocol analysis, network alarming and CDR analysis," said Sam Galler, Vice President Sales – Tekno Telecom. "In today’s turbulent times for the telecom industry, carriers have to realize that tremendous beneficial knowledge can be gained from the call detail records that are generated from within the SS7 network. These records are used for a variety of revenue generating and revenue assurance applications such as fraud management, interconnection billing verification and network usage. INS needed to develop an innovative, yet cost-effective solution, and the LinkQuest system helped them reach that goal."
